U.S. steel shipments is up
Steel shipments are an important indicator of the overall health of the steel industry as they reflect the actual amount of metal sold to customers.
According to the American Iron and Steel Association statistics, so far this year, the US steel mills have produced 60.9 million tons of steel, capacity utilization rate of 74.6%. US factory shipments in July were 7.48 million tonnes, down 3.3 percent from the previous month but up 1.7 percent from July 2016.
